Dr. Loretta Jackson Brown began her nursing career as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Air Force. From the beginning she saw nursing as leadership. Rising to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, Dr. Brown groomed and developed countless nurses and medical technicians. She is particularly proud of the medical technicians who went on to become nurse leaders. An ANNA volunteer leader, Dr. Brown is a former board of directors member, Southeast Vice President, and chair of the leadership development committee. She serves as chair of ANNA's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. Since 2013, Dr. Brown has served on the board of directors for Emory Decatur hospital in Decatur, Georgia. She is the diversity, equity, belonging, inclusion, and accessibility principle advisor for CDC's National Center for Injury Prevention and Control in Atlanta, Georgia.
